I went to church with my family tonight and the pastor said something that I think every Christian should hear

Pastor: Now, according to a few passages in the bible, homosexuality is a sin.
Couple of older males in the audience: Amen!
Pastor: Now, wait, I'm not finished.
Pastor: You know what else the bible defines as a sin? Divorce.
-uncomfortable silence-
Pastor: There are countless passages that talk about how divorce is wrong, and that there are consequences to getting a divorce, such as the wife should be stoned.
Pastor: Yet, I witnessed a divorce just this morning. And I gotta tell you, it was heartbreaking, but I definitely didn't attempt to throw rocks at the wife, even though she was the one who filed for divorce.
Pastor: We choose to overlook the consequences of divorce because time has proven that they're inhumane and cruel.
Pastor: The bible doesn't say anything about the consequences of a homosexual lifestyle. Yet, we seem to be spearheading a campaign to ruin the lives of people we don't even know.
-the pastor shifts a few notes around-
Pastor: The bible states to love thy neighbor. That's it. There are no other rules or restrictions to that passage.
Pastor: So, we as a church family have to support equality with a smile on our face. THAT is the true Christian way.

Greetings,

Yes it seems it’s been forever since I’ve said much here. Things have been very very busy in these parts. Teaching classes, travel, and watching the growth in the garden. It’s been interesting to see what things nature left to her own devices brings up for us. While we have many plants in pots we opted not to put in a sq. ft garden this spring for reasons soon to be revealed. Lately my focus has intensified concerning homesteading. This is where our family is and we have many many new projects that we’ll be working on in the upcoming weeks and months. I’m looking forward to this AMAZING adventure and what it holds in store for us. Nothing much will change here as far as content on that front.

On another note - we’re doing Juice Feasting a great deal right now so look for new juicing and Herbal Infusion pictures and recipes to show up here soon!

In the meantime enjoy the picture of the lavender currently in full bloom in the garden!

Princes, Spirits and Energies

I have often found myself considering the Energy or Spirit over various geographies or even over certain businesses, groups, organizations. I’m sometimes surprised that it seems many people don’t notice that there is a connection between things and places and a certain “spirit” that seems to reside there.

Take TN for instance. I always felt an intense fear and anxiety when about to enter TN. When we used to drive from Ohio to TX to visit family - prior to moving here - I’d always warn my then-husband to get gas prior to crossing the TN state line and don’t stop until we got across the state. He’d look at me like I was crazy - usually complying and once he didn’t. That one time he stopped to take a nap and woke up with 3 police cars surrounding us with their lights on high beam asking him “Where you goin’ boy?”

Yah - crazy. Interestingly when we separated I ended up living in TN for a brief amount of time - but that feeling that “this state is hostile” never really abated.

I’ve often wondered about Austin. When I told my Creole Grandmere that I was moving to TX she was horrified, until I said - “no it’s not TX really Grandma, it’s Austin!” Austin is this amazing hippie-esque, artsy, liberal mecca in the center of TX. I’ve wondered how that is? Austin is the first place where I truly felt at home since leaving NY. Recently I ran upon some information that the TX hill country was one area in TX that was settled by Germans who opposed slavery. I wondered if that foundational idea of Freedom impacted the very geography and caused this Free energy you feel here - which is NOT present in other parts of TX.

When I lived in LA - my mother used to say there was a Lawless Spirit in certain parts of the city, I can see that. I also felt a “Masking” energy. That much is not as it appears. It’s interesting how many people have told me they felt the same way.

All of which is to say that i do strongly believe in the Energy and Spirit of not only people but of places and beings. I believe we can change that energy and spirit - which is why my Beloved and I do Space Clearings and the like. It doesn’t necessarily mean to walk around in fear or run from places- it’s a call to be aware and mindful, to not assume something is “just you”. Spiritual sensitivity is a good thing! When you go to work - whats the energy in that place? What energy is carried by the groups you’re a part of? What about in your local city?

If you are a Healer, Shaman, Lightworker etc; you may be able to “Heal the Land” going into a space and clearing the negative qi, residual energy, or hostile spirit from a place. Often the success of this depends on a few things.

The cooperation of the person who Owns or has Authority in that space.
How long the energy, spirit etc; has occupied the space.
If it’s energy or a higher level actual “being”.
How much authority you yourself have to Do that Work.

If you don’t know what you’re doing - get training or contact me. Better to have the information you need rather than start flailing about with something you know nothing about.

We then have a lot of trouble actually identifying evil thoughts within ourselves, because we don’t see ourselves as being “evil people.”

But part of truly understanding the horror of many acts in history is understanding that the people who made them happen were not particularly evil- the people that followed weren’t particularly evil. That evil often happens in little steps, tiny jokes and references and cultural nuances until something snaps and the whole thing snowballs into chaos and upheaval. Evil as it occurs when groups of people are denied rights or killed or discriminated against or whatever isn’t necessarily the result of an evil thought, but rather the result of a lack of conscious thoughts fighting evil.

From my adventures in privilege deconstruction, I have learned that this is very much the number one psychological barrier to getting people to admit they are behaving in -ist manners. It’s why you can tell somebody, “Dude, that thing you said was racist,” and the first thing out of their mouth is “HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A RACIST ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME KNOWS I’M NOT A RACIST” because when they hear “racist,” they think Hitler, or hate crimes, or finding a person of color and enacting horrible, deliberate, bodily pain upon them. They don’t think of the fact that wanting to live in an all-white neighborhood because of “property values” and a better school for their kids (because most schools are paid for by property taxes of the district they’re in, which is why poor districts have poor schools) is actually very, very racist.

So much truth in here.

This is actually one of the number one reasons I quit watching Psych. (The other was that they suddenly started going all no-homo with their humor, which baffled me, as I was pretty sure Shaun read as bisexual for the first couple of seasons.)

Wow.. I do this ask the time. I get embarrassed for other people even on TV.
